Again, the prompt will be included in the next newsletter if you can't make it.
Now onto week 2’s prompt.
A summary of week 2
Prompt:
imagine you're at a lost & found section somewhere - this could be a lost & found anywhere/of any type - e.g. a school office, or a section of your brain. What would you encounter? What kind of conversations would occur between you and them?
Products from the session
my piece:
Trains overlap each other. Steam engines echo in the air; fade out; get replaced by electric wires. Tube lines are erased from the map, layers of plastic paint over each other; yet between such acts, we catch glimpses of the past, whether it's in an unintentional misplacement of an outdated map or a mouldy coin you find on the platform.
We are but a fragment of time, compressed within limited space; in occupying our physical flesh we trespass. Between the cracks of time is where the forgotten lies, where the act of slowly phasing out finds comfort in dwelling. In between the be-all and end-all, there is assonance created by the overlapping, layering, erasing, & palimpsesting of it all.
Kip’s piece:
Kip shared a brilliant piece with amazing worldbuilding; they aren’t quite finished with editing - I’ll edit this post and add their piece later (if they feel like making it public) :)
Kip was here again on week 2 (thank you Kip!); Hershey Kisses from CSSSA logged on for a second & Ethan popped in for the second half. So did Alan; he provided some amazing jazz soundtrack while we worked. You don’t have to write at the sessions, it’s just a space to get inspired/chill out :)
P.S. I’m actually writing this newsletter on time today! Hooray.
